Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, Charly Boy's Father Is Dead.

The former Judge of the Supreme Court and Chairman, Oputa Panel died this afternoon at the age of 96.

In a statement issued today on behalf  of the family and signed by Charles Oputa (Charlyboy), the family announced that, ” The Family of Justice Chukwudifu Oputa wishes to announce the passing to glory of the eminent jurist and a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria at the age of 96″. He passed on peacefully on sunday afternoon, 4th May 2014, after recovering from a brief illness. Funeral announcements will soon be released by the family.
