Patience Jonathan Calls On Nigerians To Join In The Fight Against Terrorism In The Country.

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has called on Nigerians to join her husband in the fight against terrorism.

According to her, “terrorism can defeat anyone including my husband, President Goodluck Jonathan, if he fights alone, because terrorism cannot defeat us collectively.”

She made this clarion call at the 44th Birthday celebration of the National Coordinator of the Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, organized by Mr. Gani Adams, and held in Ikeja, Lagos.

The First Lady, who was represented by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Student matters, Mr. Jude Imagwe, said that addressing the insecurity in the country was a shared responsibility.

She said, “I want to thank all Nigerians but as I appreciate your effort, I must remind you that you all have a responsibility to play in the security challenges facing this country.”

She has also promised to lead a protest in regards to the girls kidnapped in Borno by the insurgents that have been carrying out deadly attacks in the country. According to her:

"I do not mind being shot as long as they return our girls to us safely, we are tired of the kidnapping,” she said.

Also she said, First Ladies of other countries such as Cameroon, Chad, Niger and others have  being calling to ask her questions and offer assistance on the matter.

"They intimate me of their readiness to help. They also asked me questions that I could not answer ‎and as women we are the last hope of this nation. We cannot fail our fellow women and the nation. If need be, we will call on the northern elders to help us so that our children and husbands will not die,” Dame Jonathan said.‎‎

She said a committee would be set up at a stakeholders meeting involving wives of all the relevant bodies tomorrow May 4th. She warned that failure of any relevant agency to honour their invitation to the meeting would force her and others to make the Chibok protest a reality.
"I cannot perpetuate hearsay and rumour; I must have facts to tell the international community. We will set up a committee to seek the truth as women. If any of those we call refuse to come, we will take the protest to Chibok" she said
There have been calls to put an end to the reign of terrorism in the country. President Goodluck Jonathan in response to the calls locally and internationally set up a committee with a view to rescuing the girls.

We pray the  girls are found.#BringBackOurGirls
