Malcolm Glazer, the patriarch of the family that owns the
NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Manchester United soccer club, died on
Wednesday, the teams said. He clocked 86 days ago.
Glazer, a reclusive American billionaire who spearheaded the
controversial purchase of one of England's most-storied soccer teams, was the president and chief executive officer of
First Allied Corporation, a holding company for his varied business interests.
He was worth $4billion.
He had suffered a
series of strokes in recent years and his sons have managed the operations of
both teams.
He is survived by a wife, 6 children and 14 grandchildren.
