How Air Force Personnel Shut Down Airport.

MEN of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) led by the Airport Commandant, Group Captain Victor Ajiboye, arrested and sealed up various shops at the terminal of both the arrival and departure halls of the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, yesterday.

The sealing off of the business premises and the subsequent arrest of their operators caught other security agencies including the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) unawares.

According to information gathered, as early as 11:00am all the shops, Bureau de Change and eateries at both the arrival and departure halls owned by the FAAN concessionaires were empty, as the concessionaires were arrested by the airport commandant accompanied by heavily armed NAF personnel.

At the arrival hall, all the airline counters were empty, as only genuine passengers could be seen while those who had accompanied their loved ones to the airport were said to have been arrested while the lucky ones took to their heels to avoid being arrested.

When the Nigerian Tribune went round the terminal, most of the shops owned by FAAN concessionaires have been sealed, while their operators were said to have been arrested and taken away.

Among the shops that were sealed up by the Airport Commandant were: Eddie Burger, Famous Link Mini Mart, Leader Investment Company Limited, Sulah Bureau De Change and Kochka.

Others were: Kings Bureau De Change, Vidasem Bureau De Change, Westgate Pharmacy, Kilimanjaro eatery and Global Link Mini Mart.

At Eddie eatery, the chairs were empty as all the customers have deserted the place, as the operators were alleged to have been arrested.
