Chelsea FC Makes A Play For Loic Remy As Drogba's Time-Out Is Not Confirmed.

Chelsea have made a shock enquiry for Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy following Didier Drogba's injury, Goal understands.

He  injured his ankled ligaments during their 2-1 win over Ferencvaros on Sunday evening.

The Ivorian, who returned to Stamford Bridge this summer, lasted only 30 minutes into his first start, before limping out. He was replaced by Oscar and immediately disappeared down the tunnel to receive further treatment.

The Blues are still awaiting confirmation regarding the severity of Drogba's ankle knock, sustained during the club's 2-1 friendly victory against Ferencvaros on Sunday, and are keeping their options open.

Remy had been set for an €10 million transfer to Liverpool earlier this summer before the move broke down amid reports of a failed medical.

He had attracted interest from Tottenham and Arsenal prior to the Reds making their move, and now Chelsea have entered the frame in the wake of Drogba's set-back.

The Ivorian could miss the start of the Premier League season, with the Blues kicking off against Burnley next Monday.
