Nigeria moved a place up to the 33rd place in the Fifa
rankings released on Thursday, courtesy of the Super Eagles' second round
finish at the World Cup in Brazil.
The Eagles are now the third-ranked African side behind
Algeria and Cote d'Ivoire who finished in the 24th and 25th positions.
The Netherlands who won bronze at the World Cup and rose
twelve places in the last ranking are third with 1507 while Colombia maintain
their fourth place position in the world.
In Africa, Ghana climbed two places up to finish in 36th
place and fourth in Africa with Egypt holding onto the 38th spot and fifth in
the region.
Cameroon moved a place down to 54th in the world and eight
in Africa. Lesotho are the highest mover on the continent after climbing 26
places up to rank 29th in Africa and 105th place in the world.
