Nigeria won a record seventh African Women’s Championship on
Saturday after beating Cameroon 2-0 in the final.
Both Nigeria and Cameroon along with third-place winners
Cote d’Ivoire will represent Africa in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in
Canada.
Desire Oparanozie and Asisat Oshoala, who was the player of
the competition, were the goalscorers for the Super Falcons, with both goals
coming in the first half.
