The Ghana
showbiz industry has lost a veteran. Veteran Ghanaian actor, Kofi
Middleton Mends, is dead.
The actor
who is popular for his catch phrase, “Sarah, my socks” and television commercial
for Key Soap died yesterday evening, Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
The
accomplished actor, is also known for his role in Grey Dawn (2015) and No Tears
for Ananse(1968). He played a major role in a 1988 drama film
“Heritage…Africa”. The movie which talks about a successful black civil
servant’s quest for increased power and status precipitates an identity crisis
boasted his career.
The veteran actor’s first child, Araba Botchwey, disclosed in an interview with Myjoyonline.com Wednesday morning that that her late dad had been battling kidney disease for some time now and was on dialysis when he passed away.
He had been in and out of hospital for about two years and was rushed to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Monday dawn where he passed away at 4pm Tuesday.
Kofi Middleton Mends turned 77 in June this year and is survived by a wife and three children. He had five children but two had passed.
