Members of the Boko Haram in the early hours of Monday
reportedly invaded some sleeping villagers where they slit the throats of the
village head and his son.
There was a reported pandemonium in a local community in the
early hours of Monday, after some members of the Boko Haram terrorist sect,
crept upon sleeping villagers of Talari, slit the throats of the village head
and his son, and also shot dead two other villagers as they were trying to
escape.
“After killing the village head and his son, they burnt his
home down and as the villagers began to run for their lives, the gunmen opened
fire on them killing two persons, while many of them escaped with injuries,” he
said.
Talari is an agrarian community in Damboa Local government,
is located between Kilakia Village and Chibok.
It has been revealed that Boko Haram insurgents have
increased hostilities against villagers in remote communities especially around
Damboa and Chibok local government areas of Borno State, which share boundaries
with Sambisa forest.
Many of such attacks are unreported due to the remote and
isolated nature of the communities, which are usually not protected by security
operatives.
