Three Killed In Kwara, Over Decamping From APC To PDP

The police in Kwara said three persons died on Monday in a clash among persons who said they decamped from the All progressives Congress, APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Okasanmi Ajayi, said 12 suspects have also been arrested in connection with the clash.

A witness said some people sustained injuries during the clash that lasted for some hours in Abayawo, Alore-Ode, Adana-Omoda, Ode-Alawusa and Okelele areas of Ilorin.

The police said the clash followed the defection of some members of the APC in Alore area of Ogidi ward in Ilorin West Local Government Area to the PDP on June 13.

The witness said the clash was caused by the disagreement among the decampees on how to share some money given to them after the event.

Residents of the affected areas said the clash, which kept most of them indoors, affected the social and economic activities.

The police PRO said armed mobile police men had been deployed to the affected areas to restore peace while investigations were ongoing.
