Four employees of the Fidelity Bank, three security guards
and six policemen have been arrested in connection with the robbery of Fidelity
Bank cash office in Alaba, Lagos.
It was learnt that the suspects were arrested by the Special
Anti-Robbery Squad, led by SP Abba Kyari.
It was gathered that the policemen comprised three inspectors, two
sergeants and a corporal. The bank workers were said to be two female cashiers
and two male cashiers.
The robbers overwhelmed policemen that escorted the vans,
killing two of them.
The robbers were said to have carted away N24m during the
operation.
Police spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, had confirmed the
incident, adding that one policemen was killed while N24m was carted away.
