Sudan Woman Sentenced To Death For Apostasy.

  A Sudanese court sentences a woman to hang for apostasy - leaving Islam - after she married a Christian man.

Meriam Yehya Ibrahim Ishag's lawyer said that there was time for an appeal, as she is pregnant. She was given a chance to denounce the christian faith which she refused.

“I am a Christian and I never committed apostasy,” she said in court.

The sentence would not be carried out for two years after she had given birth.
