The Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State
Police Command, Ngozi Braide, has been redeployed by the command.
In a press statement on Friday, Braide, a Deputy
Superintendent of Police, thanked the media and the people of Lagos for their
support.
Braide said, “As the first female Police Public Relations
Officer in Lagos State, I expressed fears when I assumed office on June 11,
2012, but to my greatest surprise, I experienced the warmest reception and
assistance from you all.
It should be recalled that in February, Braide received a
query for fighting and alleged attempt to stab a senior police officer, Chief
Superintendent of Police, Cynthia Ibeama.
The scuffle took place at the Lagos State Police Command on
January 18 2013 during the surprise visit of President Jonathan to the Police
College, when there was disagreement between both officers who wanted to park
in the same parking spot at the same time.
The quarrel snowballed into a fierce fight and policemen had
to intervene.
But Ms. Braide reportedly went to her car and emerged with a
knife with which she threatened to kill Ms. Ibeama.
The incident made her undergo interrogation at the police
headquarters in Ikeja, which resulted in the query.
