Vice President Joe Biden's son Beau Dies Of Brain Cancer.

Former Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, son of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, died on Saturday after battling brain cancer, the vice president said. He was 46.

The statement released by the vice president's office said, in part, "It is with broken hearts that Hallie, Hunter, Ashley, Jill and I announce the passing of our husband, brother and son, Beau, after he battled brain cancer with the same integrity, courage and strength he demonstrated every day of his life."

Beau Biden has a history of health complications.

Just 10 days ago, on May 20, Beau Biden was admitted for treatment at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. At the time, there was no official statement on why he was admitted or for what he was being treated.

On May 10, 2011, he was admitted Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE, for a "mild stroke," according to doctors.

In August 2013, Beau Biden was admitted to the cancer center at Texas Medical Center and underwent a biopsy.

Beau Biden was the former attorney general of Delaware and previously served as a captain in the Delaware Army National Guard.

Beau Biden was elected as Delaware's attorney general in 2006 and re-elected in 2010 before announcing in April 2014 that he would not seek re-election for a third time in hopes of running for governor in 2016.

He came to the national spotlight during his 2008 Democratic National Convention speech, where he introduced his father and talked about growing up without his mother and sister, who were killed in a crash when he was 2 years old.

He was deployed to Iraq later in 2008 as a member of the Delaware Army National Guard. He continued to fulfill his attorney general duties through correspondence with his office.
Beau Biden was born in Wimington, DE, on Feb. 3, 1969. He leaves behind his wife, Hallie, and their two children, Natalie and Hunter.

The statement from Joe Biden ended, "In the words of the Biden family: Beau Biden was, quite simply, the finest man any of us have ever known."

Clinton expressed condolences over Twitter on Saturday.

"My heart is broken for the family of Beau Biden - a wonderful man who served his country with devotion and lived his life with courage," she wrote.
